BRAND NEW instalment in the Village Detectives Cozy Mystery Series from Fiona Walker
Synopsis:
We regret to announce the tragic death of Phoebe Fredericks…
When crime novelist Phoebe opens the post and receives an invitation to her own funeral, she’s horrified. Not least because the date of her death is marked as tomorrow.
Deciding it’s nothing more than a prank from an enemy from her past, she determines to put it to the back of her mind.
But the next morning, when her completely infuriating postman (who likes to think himself her no.1 literary critic) rings her doorbell, a parcel of poisoned pen-nibs explodes in his face. Forced to confront the fact her correspondence is more RIP than RSVP, Phoebe realises someone must want her dead.
Together with the newly-formed Village Detectives – Juno, Mil and Felix – Phoebe resolves to find out who is behind the poison pen letters before they strike again and her fate is signed, sealed and delivered!
Review:
If you can read this book WITHOUT casting it in your head, good luck! Once I had my actors in place in my head, this cozy ran just like a BBC show! It's funny, modern and perfectly charming, as the team of village mystery solvers try to outwit the police and solve the case! With red herrings a plenty, this one will keep you guessing to the end! Don't miss this charming cozy!
About the Author:
Fiona Walker is the best-selling author of eighteen novels. Plucked out of the slush pile at twenty-three with her first novel, French Relations, Fiona’s unique brand of sharp-eyed romantic comedy and never-want-to-leave setting was an immediate hit, and her books have gone on to sell millions of copies worldwide. The sassy big sister of chick lit, dubbed ‘the Jilly Cooper of the Cosmo generation’, she’s grown up alongside her readers from nineties London party-animal to dog-walking country mum, and her knack for story-telling remains as compelling as ever.
Fiona lives in Shakespeare Country with her partner Sam, a dressage coach, their two daughters and a menagerie of horses, dogs and other animals.
