Review:
This book comes out later this month. And before you go "I can't believe she's reviewing that book!", I come from a long line of nature healers and what lacey brings in this book is primarily that, mixed with some strong focus and intention, and energy. If you're a decent cook, then you know how spices go together to achieve a little kitchen alchemy, and Lacey does the same with her plants, crystals and grounding. The other side is more of what you are thinking, but I would refer to them as white- they are all for good and to help someone, never to take or harm. Us of a certain age, might call it the perfect 'new age' starter book-and it wouldn't be too far off. Reading the book is like sitting with Lacey as she guides you in what works for her, and what might work for you, taking ancient practices into a modern setting. If you lean this way, this is a good reference book to have on hand.
About the Author:
Lacey Burbage is a fourth-generation folk healer and hereditary/generational witch who follows a pagan/animist path. As an ordained priestess of the Goddess, she practices a nature-based tradition.
Lacey specializes in domestic magic, including hearth, cottage, hedge, green, and kitchen magic. These practices are deeply ingrained in her family’s heritage, and she is honored to carry on these traditions and pass them down to future generations. She’s devoted to helping others develop an authentic practice that’s uniquely their own.
When Lacey’s not working spells or teaching other witches, you can find her enjoying her garden and immersed in the study of herbalism. Currently residing in Las Vegas, Nevada, with her husband and children, she offers classes and resources on her website, naturallymodernwitch.com.
