Recipe:
This Applebee's Oriental Chicken Salad is a fav or our family- my mom used to make a similar salad that was made at the DH Holmes department store restaurants back in the 80s. This is a close match to it, and it's easy to add/make substitutions based on your family's likes (ie rice noodles vs Chinese noodles from the recipe), but the sauce is the winner of the recipe!
Review:
This is the perfect cookbook for those wanting familiar tastes, but on a budget. While some are super easy to figure out- Burger King Croissanwich for example, others give you the missing ingredient you might have not though about, like cream of chicken soup to act as the binder tin Cracker Barrell hashbrown casserole. We've already enjoyed the Longhorn Steakhouse Stuffed White Cheddar Mushrooms, Olive Garden Toasted Ravioli and Panera Broccolli and Cheddar Soup recipes- all were a hit and pretty close to the originals! I'm looking forward to using the sauce recipes from Wendy's Apple Pecan Salad and PF Chang's Bang Bang Shrimp for other recipes, now how to make them! Starbucks Pink Drink, Cinnamon Coffee Cake and Bacon and Gruyere Bites are next on our list to try! With included tips, essential know hows and restaurant history, this is a fun book to have at home and to give!
