Review

This is book 1 of Stephen's new series, featuring Insp Waits, who you will know from being part of Insp Drake's team! Having moved back to her home area of Wales, she is about to take on her own team. But day one starts with a dead body and before she can even get her 'welcome to the station' manuals, she's thrust into a murder investigation with her new team- who seem to not be quite welcoming. Not only does she have to work with a new squad, coordinate the investigation, she has to settle child care, make sure her son is settled with school, and be thrust into the spotlight as a community liason for the investigation. As things heat up, and she and her squad learn to work together, another murder happens, and they realize there is much more happening than they think. A well platted mystery, this fast-paced book will keep you hooked until the final page and arrest of the suspect! Kudos to the new series, and I'll be bringing you more about book 2 soon!

Series:

The second novel in the series is called The Tenby Harbour Murders, and should be out later this year.
