Review:

Each project in this book teaches you a different aspect of crochet. So as you learn one aspect, you can then build upon it for the next ones. Many of the projects (potholders, phone sleeve vs sunglass holder, granny square) are ones that my grandmother taught me, because they are simple and basic. But they teach foundation skills, so that when you leave the book, you can move on to other modern projects (ie taking the granny squares to make a large tote or couch throw). The turtle and cat could be made into other animals with a touch of practice!

I LOVE how there are step by step instructions AND color photos- so you don't miss ANY of the instructions! Each project includes tips and advice, and it's like having Penou sitting down with you, and teaching you! You can hand this book to a bored teen, with some yarn and hooks, and it can keep them busy all Summer vacation! Adults will be as easily entranced, so it's a good book to take on your month long trip!
