We all know that our pets mean much more to us than previous generations-we have whole STORES for their needs now, and if you ask any pet parent (another new generational term), they'll tell you that taking care of their pet is equivalent to having a small toddler to care for.
And like our kids, we want to give our pets what is good for them, that keeps them healthy, and keeps them with us for a long time! So when I heard about the new line of products from Nutra Complete from Ultimate Pet Nutrition, I was intrigued with their concept of taking RAW food, like real meat, veggies and fruit and freeze drying it in an unique where to keep all the nutrients in it, and keep it free of artificial preservatives. I had never realized that the harsh high-heat cooking of regular kibble dog food actually over processes the ingredients and looses all the valuable nutrition from it! And not only does the slower freeze drying help with nutrition, it locks in the delicious flavors, which will make your pets come running when the bags are opened!
Their treats are made in small batches, they are rich in protein and contain zero fillers, grains, or artificial preservatives. Just the meat your pet craves! We were sent a bag of food and treats for both cats and dogs to check out. And our furry companions were more than up to the test!

To say our cats LOVE this food is an understatement. I tried to get a picture of the older cat eating it, but she literally inhaled it! The younger cat actually ran off with some food, so I was able to follow and catch some pix, LOL. I'm not sure which they would prefer-cooked chicken or this food. When we tried giving them a piece of cooked chicken versus the food, they went for the food-so you KNOW it must taste good! They have enjoyed having the food as a daily topper, and we have to separate them for eating, because they still fight over this food!

As you can see from the picture, it is PURE salmon that is dried. When I say the cats FOUGHT over these treats, I mean they got downright obsessive! They were trying to figure out how to open the bag, then how to open the pantry door to get to them! We ended up having to put them in a glass jar, when the younger cat (above) not only got the door open but ran off with the whole bag! Yes, it was hysterical, but she needed to share with her siblings (as the dog decided these were pretty AWESOME too, LOL). So when we say these are the BEST treats EVER, we do mean that!

Obviously our 80lber took one look at this bag of food and thought treats! So we went with making it a topper as well. She recently had to have oral surgery (the perils of rescue dogs- you never know what you're getting health wise- one tooth pull led to 5 needing to be removed, SIGH), and has been on a diet of softer food, while learning to re-eat with the missing teeth. This topper was perfect to help bridge her from the soft can food back into her buffalo based kibble. She adores it and would eat the whole bag if we let her in one sitting! As you can see the bites are good size, and she loves them (ignore the mess from the gravy-she got a bit sloppy at dinner the night before) !

See the dog's guilty expression? That's because I had 3 in my hand and before the kid could take a picture, they disappeared! We tried it multiple time before giving up- she could not resist them, and the ignore command was OUT the window. As soon as I opened my hand, BOOM, gone! So are they irrestible? Oh yeah!
So the 3 furry ones have given this new line of food and treats a 20 out of a high score of 10~and we love how good it is for them too! Being totally honest though, they are not inexpensive! For example, our shepherd would need 5 cups per day, which would mean not even getting 2 days out of the 16 oz bag were sent. So yes, it IS pricey but you are paying for what you get. Now if you can afford it on a continual basis then great, please get it for your pet! You can get a huge discount by joining their VIP club, so that is something to think about as well. If you can't, then maybe get it to use as toppers, or for treats and give them the best of what you can afford!
