The Chateau Murder cover

Synopsis:

Zoe Pascal has settled into her new life in the picturesque village of Sainte-Catherine, running her beloved bookshop with her new companion, Russell the dog.

When an old friend invites Zoe to join her family at Chateau Palotte for the holidays, Zoe heads off into the French countryside to the grand, yet slightly dilapidated, castle.

But there's a frosty atmosphere at the chateau - and when the butler is found dead, Zoe is forced to ask: Was this an accident, or is there a murderer in the grounds?

Soon, Zoe uncovers that everyone staying at the chateau has a motive for murder - can she uncover the truth, before they strike again?

Review:

In this follow up to the French Bookshop Murder, Zoe has settled in to her new life, made friends to share dinner and drinks with, and is looking forward to taking a warm weather holiday over the Christmas season, with no tourists and little business to keep her in town. But just as she starts scheduling her trip, her old friend calls and begs her to come stay at her Chateau, as she needs to talk to her. So Zoe, being nice, decides to put aside her sunny trip for a few days....But with her history, she should know better. Things at the Chateau are odd. very odd. And when an apparent murder occurs, that everyone swears was just an accident, Zoe feels she has no other option than to stay and try to figure out what is going on and if her friend, or her husband, is in danger. With the oddest of dysfunctional families thwarting her every discovery, and having to fill in for the butler with an unable to cope family, Zoe is truly tested to use her little grey cells to solve this one! Almost as fun as the first book, I'm already looking forward to book 3!
