Disclosure / Disclaimer: I received these books, free of charge, from the Rizzoli Books,  for review and giveaway purposes on this blog. No other compensation, monetary or in kind, has been received or implied for this post. Nor was I told how to post about it. All opinions are my own

Today, I have a great set of kids book for a giveaway- 4 of the This is... Books by Mirosalv Sasek, originally released in the 60's..

There are 16 books in the original series including Ireland, Hong Kong and Scotland, this series was aimed at making travel in foreign countries. Interesting to young children. The bright and colorful illustrations will delight readers of all ages. In fact, I can see some wanting to take the book apart and frame them to put into a nursery or young child's room!

Many of the sites and locations in the books still stand and the facts remain the same. For the updated versions, if there is something that has been changed or no longer exist, they have been updated for the twenty-first century, appearing on a "This is ... Today" page at the back of the book

The books are still charming with noted places that you would want to see if you travel there even today. I love how they have updated the books with the quick sheet of changes so that the books can be used again and again. They are a charming series and I'm glad to see that they're going to be in a thinner, hard paperback style to make them more accessible and travelable. If you want to know more about the series republishing you can click on the link below.
