BLOODSHED IN THE BOOKSHOP cover
Synopsis:

Carole Seddon adores gossip. Not that she’d ever let anyone know. She finds the best way to learn the goings on in the English seaside village of Fethering is via her sociable neighbour, Jude. After an unpleasant visit to the local bookshop, Carole’s curious to learn why the usually lovely owner is letting her obnoxious lump of a husband destroy her business?

Recently retired Roly Strickland is taking over his wife’s dream of a quaint country bookstore with one of his own—The Blood Shed. But after a particularly fraught author event showcasing just how unsuited Roly is to bookselling, Jude makes a horrific discovery.

Stabbed in the back behind a bloody curtain is Roly. With so many suspects, Jude and Carole once again must don their sleuthing caps to investigate a murder in the crime section!

Review:

This is book 23 of the Fethering series, and while I haven't read them all, I have read the last 4, so I feel like I know the characters. In this book, a local bookshop is making changes, and not everyone is happy about them. While Jude and Carole are trying to be supportive to their local book store, the changes are not pleasing to Carole, and Jude is more concerned with how the owner , her client, is coping with her husband taking over her space since his retirement. When family drama erupts before Roly's death, all eyes look to the wife and daughter, but did they do it? Jude and Carole decide to use their different skills to get to the bottom of the case, as the police don't seem interested in finding the truth. It will take them on different paths, but ultimately this sleuthing team will find the killer!
