Product Review/CLOSED/ GIVEAWAY/ Blog Tour: Tommee Tippee Cups

While my daughter was an infant we found that alot of the quality items and bedding we had actually came out of Great Britain, including her adorable Winnie the Pooh crib ensemble and matching curtains, which we got thru Mothercare. While perusing their site we also found Tommee Tippee items, which were not available in the US unless you bought them over the internet. I will admit it- I became a Euro-want-it Mom as I found that generally speaking the European brands were of a better quality and lasted 10 times longer. The old adage of you pay for what you get was evident to me!

So when the Mom Bloggers Club offered me the opportunity to review some newly released Tommee Tippee sippee cups, I was thrilled to help out and review them!

I was sent 2 packages of the Tommee Tippee Explora line sippee cups: Stage 1 and Stage 2

Both sets of cups:

• are BPA-free for safe toddler drinking
• feature advance-flo™ valves, designed by a physicist to require almost no force to drink from
  thereby easing the transition to a cup, while still remaining truly spill and leakproof. 
• Each Explora cup is progressively staged with a specific spout and rubberized grip to meet the needs of every age while supporting natural oral development. 
• Bright colors, designs and coordinating mealtime products reflect the individual styles of moms and their children, while making drinking and eating fun. 
• have an unique hinged cover for the spout, that locks into place IN the lid, to keep it from getting lost!
• Hold between 9-12oz of liquid
• The website claims the cups are dishwasher safe, but the insert pages said to wash in soapy hot water to help them last better.

We received the cups just as everybody was getting sick in the household and with daughter needing constant fluids while battling roto virus, I found these stage 2 cups to be very beneficial! Obviously at almost 3 yrs old my daughter is beyond Stage 2, but she really has never liked the straw cups as she could never get all the fluid out, nor the sports cups. She'll drink out of a water bottle, but not the kiddee cups. Go figure. So we keep the Stage 2 and Covered Drinking Cups around for on-the go or travel throughout the house, with real cups/glasses kept to the table.

We found the Stage 2 cups were superb for her to trot around the house with! As she needed to drink more, I removed the valves, so she wouldn't be so stressed getting her liquids. These valves have to be the BEST valves I have EVER seen-as we've gone through the gamut of sippee cups! All you do is push on the raised edge and pop, out they come. Putting back in is just as easy! Line up sides, push down. Bingo, snug and tight fit with minimum effort!

I loved that the cups hold 11 OUNCES of liquid (that's only 5 oz LESS than a bottled Coke!)- when you've got a sick kids, it's great to know you don't have to be constantly refilling the cup! AND the best part is the rubber on the cups helps to keep them from getting knocked over. SERIOUSLY. When placed on the plastic table cloth on the table, you have to exert a good amount of force to get them to wobble, much less fall over! Woo Hoo- saves the furniture!

My daughter was ENTRANCED with the spout cover! She likened it to the cap on our water bottles, saying she could cover her own water, so it wouldn't spill (and it didn't!). She also loved the bright colors and butterflies and flowers on the cups- saying they were "big girl" pictures! I wish I had taken pictures of her and the cups, but time got away from me and I didn't get one before the post was due!

If I had to do it all over again, these cups (and tableware) would be the ONLY ones I would buy! I am going to be going to Toys R Us to get some of the Stage 5 Drinking Cups to have for both cars and grandmas houses! Check out the ENTIRE Tommee Tippee line HERE!
