Music Monday- Review and Giveaway- Tiger Suit by KT Tunstall

I was happy to be able to review K.T. Tunstall's new cd, Tiger Suit, that was just released on October 5th, over the weekend! I've liked her ever since I heard "Black Horse and Cherry Tree"!

This is Tunstall's third album and the first single is "Fade Like A Shadow". Here's a video preview:
 

KT Tunstall has had a recurring dream since she was a child. She sees a tiger in her garden and goes outside to stroke it. She returns indoors and is seized by the fear that she could have been killed. Over the years, it has occurred to her that the reason the tiger responds so passively is that she herself is disguised as a tiger. That she is wearing a tiger suit. Hence, the name of the album!

Review: This isn't my favorite Tunstall album (her debut album is still my fav) , but I think it is her more personal/biographical one. She calls it a comb of  root folkiness and techno. She calls it “Nature Techno”.
My actual fav is not the lead single, but Golden Frames- it reminds me of something that Chris Isaak would write/sing! Come On, Get In is reminiscent of her debut album, while Push That Knot Away has an interesting intro that hooks you in. Honestly, I didn't like the rest of the songs much, but I'm really into techno and some of the songs were just too odd for me, but younger teens/listeners will probably LOVE them!

I was also happy to see that the liner notes have lyrics for ALL the songs on the cd- that's pretty rare anymore! Make sure you check out Tunstall's website for special links and freebies!
