Have you seen the FLOR Carpet tiles?
If you're like me, you've seen them, lusted after them, but never bought them. So when FLOR contacted me about reviewing their new House Pet line of carpet tiles, I was overjoyed and very happy to oblige!
The new House Pet tiles have a new surface that looks like faux mohair - the feel is" whiskery," similar to a wire-haired terrier! Seriously- it DOES. Step on them in bare feet and yup, it's similiar to dog fur! The highly durable construction doesn't show dirt and cleans easily, so it goes practically anywhere -- kitchen, family rooms or entryways. It is suitable for heavy traffic and a smart choice for pets. It is available in 24 fashionable colors as well!
FLOR's innovative system of coordinating 19.7" modular carpet squares allows you to mix and match, to create a custom floorcovering in any shape for any space - rug, runner or wall-to-wall . You can trim the aquares, just like regular carpet, to cstomizeyour size. Which means ifyou happen to have a tile that gets stained beyond cleaning,you only have to remove the bad tile, and slip in a new one! No cutting the carpet to remove a section! Plus the tiles can be vaccummed and cleaned like regular carpet!

We were sent 6 tiles, which makes the equivalent of a 3x5foto rug. Our colors were Black Cat and Ferret. I LOVE the colors! The Ferret is a gorgeous multiple shade grey and the Black Cat is really more of a dark charcoal and black blend. As you can see, they blended extremely well with the new covers I have for the upstairs multi-purpose room (sounds alot better than saying office/craft room/play room doesn't it?) chairs. I still need to customize the covers, but I wanted to show how well they match! Our drapes in the room are black, silver and grey stripes, so it's beyond perfect.
I had originally intended to put the tiles at our side door as we have about a 3x5 area, but with the stoage rack, they just didn't fit well. So upstairs they went. We have 3 cats upstairs and we have a room rug mainly because: they shed: A LOT. Since putting the FLOR tiles down, I have noticed that while there is hair on them, it is not as obvious as the area rug to the side of them. plus I found that when I did check the tiles, it was super easy to pull the hair up with my hand, saving having to pull out the heavy vaccuum.
If you wondered why the tiles weren't perfectly lined up, it's because I had not placed the FLORDots on the backsides of the tiles. I wasn't sure if I was a) going to like the arrangement and b) if that was where I was going to keep them.The tabs hook the tiles together at the corners and are super sticky I want to buy mroe tiles and make my own larger area rug, so I can replace the old, outdated western style floor rug that is in the room now!
You can order 3 6"x6" samples for $5 from FLOR to see if you like the color and feel. This is a pretty good deal! Plus if you don't like the color, you can use it for your daughter's dollhouse! (or just buy them fir that purpose! LOL! You can also request a catalog from FLOR as well.
