Yesterday I told you about the excellent Exederm Baby Skin Care Linehttp://blesstheirheartsmom.blogspot.com/2011/09/product-review-and-giveaway-exederm.html, and today I'm going to tell you about their adult products!
I have always had sensitive skin and can count on having contact dermatitis at least 5 or 6 times a year, so I like to have a really good skin care cream on hand for when my flareups occur. Well, now thanks to Exederm, I have some really great products in the bathroom cabinet!
Did you know the average person can use up to 100 different chemicals on their skin before leaving home in the morning - just in our daily skincare routines? That's a scary statistic to me! And did you know that Even some brands labeled 'hypoallergenic', 'sensitive' or 'natural' can contain unnecessary additives and harsh chemicals? Sometimes even reading a label can be confusing!
In particular, look out for fragrances, colors and harsh preservatives such as parabens (butylparaben, propylparaben, methylparaben) or methylisothiazolinone, in our make up and morning skin care products, as they can trigger eczema. And for liquid cleansers such as body washes, hand washes or shampoo watch out for SLS (sodium laureth sulfate) or CAPB (cocamidopropyl betaine)- both of these ingredients have been known to trigger contact dermatitis! Admit it- you just stopped and went to pick up an item from your bath to see what was in it! Scary huh? It's no wonder the number of contact/allergy dermatitis cases is on the rise!
My primary go-to dermatitis item with now be Exederm's excellent Flare Up Cream! It is designed to help heal eczema flare-ups with fast soothing relief. It is America's only paraben-free hydrocortisone cream and the first and only hydrocortisone product to receive the National Eczema Association's coveted Seal of Acceptance with a perfect 5 out of 5 score. It is the best maximum strength available without a prescription! AND it really works very quickly! I was very surprised at how well it worked- dermatitis gone in less than 3 days! Woo hoo!
And while it's not noted, I'm betting that it will be a big help on any future poison ivy/oak outbreaks, for that itch that stays for 24 hours, even after you've got all the oil off your skin! And so far, it seemed to help with Kiddo's ant bites as well (they just always seem to find her!)!
Like the baby line, the adult line also has body wash, shampoo, conditioner, body oil, and body lotion.
They also have a Cream Moisturizer that deeply moisturizes itchy skin with a light, greaseless cream. perfect for every day, it is perfect to keep trouble spots moisturized, to avoid the possibility of flare ups! I found that it really helped with my dry patches at the elbows and relieved the itchiness!
Now Exederm is a little pricey, but it is SO worth it! And if you order online, they have 2 specials:
And don't forget, we're giving away a FULL size bottle of the Exederm Baby Lotion on the review, posted yesterday, so head on over there, even if you're and adult in need of skin care, because the baby line works on adults too!
