Allstate, the insurance company we call know and trust, has a new brand vision: “Good Hands for the Good Life”.

Allstate Good Life delivers the message that Allstate and its agents offer more to help customers every day via ads that offer relatable home maintenance and prevention tips, from home experts and popular television personalities, and showcases helpful Allstate tools.

But no matter what we do to keep our homes in the best shape possible and our insurance up to date, life can sometimes send us a curveball. Natural disasters like Hurrican Katrina and the recent tornado in Moore, Ok are testament to that possibility.

But I can tell you from personal experience, that when bad things happen, you get to see the 'good hands' in your community, and those around the country,  come forth! Faith in your fellow man really comes to the forefront, as people offer assistance to those in need, with no hesitation. Allstate was one of the insurance companies locally that was very helpful post Hurrican Katrina, and had people here as soon as possibly, to write checks and to help their insured get back on their feet as soon as possible.

Because we benefitted so much from donors around the country, when we heard about the tornadoes in Oklahoma, our churches and school immediately started donation drives. Miss Grace's school has literally a truck load of tolietries being sent to Oklahoma this week. The kids overwhelming brought in things they knew that people who have lost their homes need- the basics that we don;t think about needing every day, until we no longer have them.

When you have a damaged home or a lost home, this type of generosity coming to you not only restores faith in your fellow man, it makes you want to rebuild- to make your home and your community whole, and 'pay it forward', when the next disaster strikes. It is something that can not be taught, but must be experienced to truly understood.

.Kudos to Allstate for reminding us about the Good Things in Life!
