Synopsis:

Tired of yelling and nagging? True family connection is possible--and this essential guide shows us how.

Popular parenting blogger Rebecca Eanes believes that parenting advice should be about more than just getting kids to behave. Struggling to maintain a meaningful connection with her two little ones and frustrated by the lack of emotionally aware books for parents, she began to share her own insights with readers online. Her following has grown into a thriving community--hundreds of thousands strong.

In this eagerly anticipated guide, Eanes shares her hard-won wisdom for overcoming limiting thought patterns and recognizing emotional triggers, as well as advice for connecting with kids at each stage, from infancy to adolescence. This heartfelt, insightful advice comes not from an "expert," but from a learning, evolving parent. Filled with practical, solution-oriented advice, this is an empowering guide for any parent who longs to end the yelling, power struggles, and downward spiral of acting out, punishment, resentment, and shame--and instead foster an emotional connection that helps kids learn self-discipline, feel confident, and create lasting, loving bonds.

Review:

Unlike other parenting books, Rebecca admits what she did and how it did NOT work for her, or her kids. She gives you real life examples that you know only too well! In fact, the book reads like a friend giving you parenting advice, after they finally got their kids through school! Rebecca allows parents to reward themselves for knowing their kids. For knowing what will not work with the, Every child is different. Even if you have 3 kids, each will respond to the same discipline style, very differently. With this book, Rebecca helps you to understand this at an early age, to help you stop problems before they begin, And if you have older kids, she gives you great steps to help you get past problems you may already have. With help from this book and the 5 Love Languages for Teens, together Miss Grace and I are starting to get past the mutual need to control each situation, and to allow for a more natural positive parenting style to emerge, that is much better for both of us! I really can't recommend this book enough, especially if you saw yourself in the guest post from Rebecca! The insights in this book will really give you a head start on reconnecting with your children.
